Max’s photographic journey began with years of analogue street photography, mainly in Manchester. Since then his interests have developed into documentary and portrait based work. Inspired by documentary film makers and cinematography, he wants to get to the core of a person while creating an image with depth.
Significant past work includes Ashbourne’s Shrovetide Football (2019- Onwards), which he intends to document year on year for as long as possible. The project of Shrovetide explores Britain, tradition, competition and masculinity while also being a source of self reflection for Max.
